OCP de Mexico Announces IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification

OCP in Mexico today celebrated IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification of 20 of its manufacturing employees. This is the culmination of more than 2 years of training that enhances their unique position in the global cable and wire harness industry. The training of was subsidized in part by the Mexican Federal Government's program, PODRIAT, which is dedicated to the economic development of key sectors of the manufacturing industry in Mexico. The program is designed to facilitate training that provides unique and desirable skills in Mexican manufacturing workforce.

Ms. Margarita Carlsen, General Manager of OCP de Mexico, mentioned that the company was continually focused on the service and quality of its products. "One of the key strategies to providing products with consistency and quality is staff training. However, this level of IPC Certification, while not required by our customers, ensures that we are competitive at a global level in the cable assembly and wire harness industry", said Carlsen. The company has plans to certify all staff members that are involved with product manufacturing and quality assurance.

The IPC Certificates were presented individually by the guest of honor, Lic. Alejandro Monraz Sustaita, Director of the Mexico Federal Ministry of Economics. "On behalf of the company, I welcome the positive affect that the time and dedication of each member will provide for the development of OCP," he said. He concluded by saying, "While only 20% of the employees may have achieved the certifications, the impact of their achievement will be much larger. This will help to develop more business within current customers, open new markets and encourage new business relationships; all leading to more job creation."

Some of the staff who earned their certificates included, Silvia Gómez, Jonathan Torres, José Ramos, Abel González, Marcela Tiznado, Fabián Ortega, Luz Maria Ríos, Camilo Flores and Lucia Hernández.

The event was attended by Lic Alejandro Monraz Sustaita, Director of the Mexico Federal Ministry of Economics, Ms. .Margarita Carlsen, General Manager OCP de Mexico, Treacy Sommer and Ms. Kalin Sommer, OCP Group, as well as several special guests.
